• Arrow: First look at The Count

Arrow were filming in New Westminster last night (November 15, 2012) at a parking garage just off Columbia Street.

Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell), John Diggle (David Ramsey), Det. Lance (Paul Blackthorne), Alexi Lenonov (Eugene Lipinski) and The Count (Seth Gabel) were all at the location. The scene was about a meeting between Oliver Queen, The Count and Alexi Lenonov that gets ambushed by the police. Something goes wrong and Oliver gets injected with some sort of poison. At this point, Diggle has to carry Oliver to safety.

The cast and crew were running really late because of the location they were in and the delays caused by the exceptionally long trains that split the crew park and the actual set. First out of his trailer was Oliver’s bodyguard/sidekick John Diggle who was quickly whisked away to set. Then we met the charming Seth Gabel and got his autograph. We spoke for a while about Arrow and then asked if he was going to be making a return to Season five of Fringe… but more on that in another post. Paul Blackthorn then came running around the corner and got into the waiting car. I hadn’t realised just how tall he was. I’m 6′ 2″ and he was at least a couple inches taller than me.

A while later Stephen Amell came out of his trailer dressed in a smart grey suit. As always, Stephen was cool and stopped to say hi and take a picture, even though he was late to set. The guy is a star in so many ways.

We were there last night to see Seth Gabel mainly, because we are huge fans of Fringe. His character in this show however is The Count. Quite a way away from the charming Lincoln Lee. Having learned that the title of episode twelve will be “vertigo” we’re certain that he’s Count Vertigo.

Seth Gabel

Eugene Lipinski was also present on the set. We first met him in Arrow episode three, The Lone Gunmen playing the part of Alexi Lenonov. I didn’t see him filming any scenes though, but as you can see from the video, he was definitely there.

Arrow airs Wednesday nights at 8 pm on The CW in the US and CTV in Canada.
