Vera Farmiga, Max Thieriot and Ian Tracey were all at Steveston’s Britannia Heritage Shipyards today to film scenes for the upcoming second season.
Filming started early in the morning whilst the fog was still pretty thick, which lent itself perfectly to the eerie feel of Bates Motel. No need for any Supernatural type smoke machines on this set!
Norma (Vera Farmiga) was wearing a long blue jacket as she walked towards the doors of the shipyard building with Remo (Ian Tracey) following closely behind her with what looked like a sawn off, pump-action shotgun. They did a couple of takes of this then headed inside. They spent about 4 hours holed up in the building with a bunch of background performers, and nothing could be seen or heard.
When they were done with that scene, they immediately went to the Murakami building to film some interiors before breaking for lunch. Max Thieriot was in this scene with bruises and cuts all over his face. Bates Motel’s second season is looking good!
