Psycho ‘prequel’ Bates Motel was in Steveston yesterday as filming continues for the followup to the successful first season.
Filming took place at two locations yesterday, the first was Britannia Shipyards. They were filming a scene with Max Thieriot (who plays Norman’s big brother Dylan) at the back of one of the heritage shipping buildings on a dock. Ironically, at the same dock, just behind where the filming was taking place was the recreated model of the Lady Washington used as Hook’s ship in Once Upon a Time.
The first location wrapped late afternoon and the crew was on to the second location which was Paramount Steveston Harbour. Fans will recall scenes shot at this location between Norma and Jake Abernathy late in the show’s first season. Vera Farmiga (Norma) and Freddie Highmore (Norman) were also present for the filming at the second location, but unfortunately I was unable get a photo.
Vera is nominated for an Emmy Award for “Outstanding Lead Actress In A Drama Series – 2013″. The Emmy’s take place on Sunday, September 22nd at 5pm PST.
Bates Motel returns to A&E for its second season in 2014.
