Doctor Who Christmas Special

Posted by

Yesterday (November 16, 2012) it was Children in Need day in the United Kingdom. Children in Need is the BBC’s UK charity. Since 1980 it has raised over £600 million (That’s nearly a billion CAD) to change the lives of disadvantaged children and young people in the UK. Every year, the BBC has a special telethon to help raise money for this charity.

Usually, they also show the first trailer for the upcoming Christmas special of Doctor Who. This year was no different. But, they also had showed a special Children in Need Minisode prequel to the Christmas special, The Great Detectives.

I am a huge fan of Doctor Who, an have been since I was a small child being scared by the Daleks and Cybermen, so I’m hoping some of you out there will enjoy this post. I know it has absolutely nothing to do with filming in Vancouver, but I thought I’d share it with you.

We could of course make a connection with Vancouver. Doctor Who featured a character called Captain Jack Harkness, played by John Barrowman, who is currently filming scenes for Arrow, which IS filmed here. Glad we cleared that up :)

In addition the the Minisode that they showed, they also showed the first trailer for the Doctor Who Christmas special which is entitled – The Snowmen. I hope you enjoy it.

The Doctor Who Christmas Special will air on BBC One in the UK, Space in Canada and BBC America in the US on Christmas Day.
