Legendary pictures and Warner Bros. showed off their monster movie at Comic Con today and he’s one big monster.
The movie director, Gareth Edwards and some of the cast were in San Diego for the panel and revealed that the movie will open on May 16, 2014 in theatres.
Godzilla — An epic rebirth to Toho’s iconic Godzilla, this spectacular adventure pits the world’s most famous monster against malevolent creatures who, bolstered by humanity’s scientific arrogance, threaten our very existence. Gareth Edwards directs Godzilla, which stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Ken Watanabe, Elizabeth Olsen, and Juliette Binoche, with David Strathairn and Bryan Cranston.
Gareth Edwards, Elizabeth Olsen, Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Bryan Cranston were all present to talk about the movie. Gareth said that he had so much love and respect for Legendary Pictures and the producers of the movie and that it was a “Modern day blockbuster that has heart and soul.”. He also said that it was a big budget art film.
Bryan Cranston is a very funny guy. He was saying that he was the old guy in the movie and that he loved the monster when he was younger. He was nervous about being part of the movie because of Godzilla’s iconic status.
A new trailer was show with a monster that isn’t Godzilla fighting with the troops, but a huge foot comes down to squish it. It’s not an understatement that Godzilla is HUGE in Gareth Edwards’ version.
