Once Upon a Time
was once again in the fictional town of Storybrooke, Maine which is so beautifully played by Steveston, Richmond, BC for another bout of filming yesterday (Tuesday, 28th August) but, unlike other times, they didn’t take over the whole town.
Steveston was it’s normal, quiet self for once. No Storybrooke sign, no Granny’s Diner and no Dr. Hopper in sight. Some signage was still to be seen in the town though, as Mr. Gold’s and the Pet Shelter are permanent residents of the town for now. Even Steveston Bread has it’s sign changed for the duration of filming.
Yesterday’s Once Upon a Time filming was all interior shots at the Prickly Pear Garden Centre (you should check them out). Mr. Gold/Rumplestiltskin, David Nolan/Prince Charming, Red Riding Hood/Ruby, Belle her father and the mysterious new character were all on set. Unfortunately, I didn’t get any shots of Mr. Gold, Charming or Ruby as I was in Vancouver, but when I got to Steveston later in the day, I did manage to see Belle, her father, Moe (played by Eric Keenleyside) and (who I’m calling) Smee.
During one take that we heard, Belle was shouting “no Father!” – All I know is that it was Belle, her father and Smee in the Game of Thorns store. I wonder what that could be in relation to?
There weren’t the usual crowd of fans waiting around, but there were a few die hards hanging around. A couple of fans had made some interesting artwork to give to the cast too. It looked pretty awesome.
Whilst we’re on the subject of Once Upon a Time, and total speculation here on my part, but what if Captain Hook is actually Mr. Gold’s son Baelfire? I don’t know how this could be possible though, as he asked the Blue Fairy for help and she gave him a bean which whisked him away to a land with no magic. Did he come through to Storybrooke, or somewhere else?
Another thing I would like to mention is that we’ve started a forum at Vancity Filming. It’s by far complete but we’d like your help to get it off the ground. Go and take a look, sign up and join in the conversation. There is a Once Upon a Time section for you to discuss this amazing show in too.
