Red Widow filming at CBC Vancouver

Posted by

Red Widow, as I mentioned in the Rogue post earlier today were filming at CBC Vancouver yesterday. I was lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time.

We’d heard that there were a few shows filming in Vancouver yesterday, so it warranted a day out DT, and boy were we rewarded. I actually didn’t notice the stars were sitting a few feet away from us when we sat down for lunch at a nearby coffee place. As we were munching on our sandwiches, Goran Visnjic walked by and got in to a waiting car. Unfortunately, I wasn’t quick enough with the camera to capture a picture of him, I did get his back.

We were luckier when it came to the other stars of Red Widow Radha Mitchell (Marta Walraven), Sterling Beaumon (Gabriel Walraven) and Wil Traval (Irwin Petrova). There was also another actor there, but I’m not sure who he was. If anyone can help, let me know in the comments below. Unfortunately, Luke Goss was nowhere to be seen, but hopefully we’ll catch a glimpse of him before they’ve finished filming.

Somebody on the Red Widow set was celebrating a birthday, and the whole cast and crew stopped to sing happy birthday to them, which was awesome. I have a video of them singing which I will upload tomorrow.

When Marta Walraven’s (Radha Mitchell) husband is brutally murdered, her first instinct is to protect her three young children. Her husband’s business partners – Irwin Petrova (Wil Traval), Marta’s scheming and untrustworthy brother, and Mike Tomlin (Lee Tergesen) — were involved in an illegal drug business deal with rival gangsters, and Marta’s husband paid the ultimate price. She already knows the violent world of organized crime; her father, Andrei Petrova (Rade Sherbedzija), and loyal bodyguard Luther (Luke Goss) are gangsters too. She and her sister Kat (Jaime Ray Newman) had always wished for a safer life without bloodshed and fear. For a while Marta lived happily as a stay at home housewife in San Marta’s cooperation, FBI Agent James Ramos (Mido Hamada) now promises justice.
