I’ve always liked to think that I use the best technology that I can afford to do all of the work that goes in to running this site.
The camera I use is a Nikon 5100 with a couple of lenses. An 18-55mm and a 55-200mm. The camera takes some pretty good pictures that are nice and clear, but I tend to downgrade the quality for the website because of people stealing my images and bandwidth and posting them on Tumblr and their own sites.
This is something I have been discussing with some people behind the scenes as it is clear to everyone involved that the #yvrshoots hashtag is no longer effective at getting information out to people.
What I propose is that everyone uses the #yvrfilm hashtag from now on to post locations only. No links to websites, pictures or anything else would be put on the hashtag. #vancityfilming is fifteen characters and #yvrshoots is ten characters long, both including the # symbol. #yvrfilm is eight characters long.
This is a rare opportunity to own a piece of memorabilia from the final episode of the final season.

I have been thinking about recording a monthly podcast for the Vancity Filming website for a while. But I don’t know if there’s any interest out there in listening to something like that.
