Thank you

It’s not often that I am moved by Twitter, but today that happened. I was at the Once Upon a Time shoot last night in Steveston to see Robert Carlyle and Emilie De Ravin film even more scenes outside, and inside Mr. Gold’s store having previously been there in the afternoon watching them same two actors film. I had to leave the set due to family circumstances or I would have been there for the whole shoot. I am that much of a Once Upon a Time geek.

There were a few familiar faces in the small crowd of diehard fans there watching when I got back at around 6.30pm. People who I have been standing with on set a few times throught the summer. I’ve even gotten to know one or two of them. Last night was no different. That is until I got home and saw that one of the people who was there has tweeted this message:

Screen-Shot-2012-11-07-at-3.13.16-PM

It was disappointing to read to say the least. I’m not annoyed or angry about it. Why would I be? Everyone has a right to an opinion, right? The thing that has annoyed me though, is that this individual did get photo ops with both Emilie De Ravin and Robert Carlyle. She even delayed Emilie from going back to set in the process. To say that I had ruined that opportunity for her is absurd. This is also coming from the girl who bought a camping chair with her to the set whilst they were filming in Steveston and in the Forrest over the summer and would disrupt filming by shouting at the actors.

There is however, a happy ending to this story. I had noticed an increased amount of “thank you for your pictures” type of posts in my Twitter stream today. I did my usual thing of thanking one or two of the posters. That was until I found out that Storybrooke Mirror had posted this message on their Tumblr.

I don’t know if this is in response to what Colleen Bradford had posted, but this has both moved and humbled me. I wish I could thank each and every one of you personally for your kind messages. It’s not often that I am lost for words, but this selfless act of kindness has managed to do that to me. If you ask my wife, she’ll tell you that it’s sometimes difficult to get me to shut up, so it’s quite an achievement.

I do what I do because I love watching film crews work their magic. Whether it be on a film set or TV Show set. Once Upon a Time is special though. I am a huge fan of the show. There’s no motive behind me taking pictures. I do it simply because I love doing it.

Once again, thank you one and all for your support and kind words. I’ll post the two pictures that I took last night shortly. Isn’t it weird that I would stand out in the wet and cold to only take two pictures. I’m pretty sure that other fans took many more pictures than I did last night. There were plenty of opportunities for me to do so too, but I respectfully chose not to.

Whenever I see a tweet from you saying you’re on set I excitedly wait for your pictures. I love OUAT, I love the cast, I love spoilers, and I love your pictures. :)
Anytime I have a question, you always take the time to answer and you’re always so nice. So thank YOU!

Personal “THANK YOU” on my behalf for all that you’ve done in sharing your pictures, write-ups and time from the OUAT filming sets. Without your work…those of us who cant travel to experience the “on-set atmosphere” while filming would be totally at a loss. Please keep doing what you’re doing…will always be appreciated!!! :o)
Thank you, again…keep those ‘spoilers’ coming!!! ;o)

I just wanted to thank you again for taking YOUR TIME and using YOUR RESCOURCES and sharing your wonderful pictures with us. As an above poster said many of us can not travel to the set in Steveson and appreciate your pictures and the little tidbits you share from your experiences on set.

Honestly, it sounds like sour grapes from this other person. Also, I would much rather follow someone who is gracious enough to realize that when a fan gets the opportunity to meet one one the actors or actresses they should allow the actor or actress to return to their job when the moment is over and not impede them from doing what they are bring paid to do. It makes all fans look rude and unthinking.

So thank you again! Oh and your wife ROCKS btw way for standing up for you and sharing her time with you so that you can share your fun with us:)

I can tell you this, I am pretty good at trolling Twitter and Facebook for pics from set. EVERY time you have been on set taking pics there has ALWAYS been pictures from fans with them and some cast members put on twitter. So ignore your buddy up there with there bad luck keep up the good work and THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU…. :)

I am just so thankful for any pictures or anything you take/provide as I am not able to get to Vancouver so easily due to my job. It means a lot for those of us not so fortunate to be there and meet our favorite stars. I would love if you could try and get more pics of Lana Parrilla as she is my all-time fav since before OUAT. Again, thanks! Dont let 1 bad egg spoil all your hard work and effort. Screw that person! People can suck! All the best!

Hey I was there that night. I believe you showed up right before I left. For the about 30 minutes I stood with you, you were fine. It was my second time being down for filming and I got a picture with Robert and both autographs. I didn’t see you step in and try and “steal” any pictures or not allow anyone to get one. Thanks for the hard work on the photos! Hope to see you at future filmings.

My family and I stood out in the cold with you one night at the end of October, and I thought you were gracious and polite. We enjoyed getting to know you! Not only that, but you were thoughtful and generous in response to the email I sent you when we got home from our vacation. I appreciate that you are out there getting pictures because we are almost seven hours from Steveston, and the few days of our vacation that we got to watch OUAT filming left us wanting more. Thank you for taking the pictures we can’t. I’m glad you’ve had such positive feedback to drown out the lame voice of one hater. Keep up the good work!
